As President of D.F. Pray, Scott is responsible for all aspects of the company, including financial planning, bonding and insurance, contract negotiations and marketing. All Sr. Executives report to Scott at weekly management meetings. Sr. Executives then pass on policies and current tasks to both mid and lower management staff as they meet independently. Real time information sharing assures the teams receive current and fresh information on their day to day objectives for each client and their respective needs. Scott Pray’s lineage in the D.F. Pray tradition, traces back to the company’s founding, when his father, C. Edward Pray and his partners, founded the company in 1959. He was first initiated to the industry as an apprentice carpenter in 1974, working his way through the field ranks as lead man, foreman, superintendent, and project manager. In 1982, Scott left Bentley College due to a family illness, and joined the management staff as a Sales Representative for CT and RI. In 1985, he was promoted to Vice President of Operations and subsequently, as Executive Vice President of Sales in 1986. In 1987, Scott succeeded his father as President of D.F. Pray, continuing a tradition of quality field operations. Scott created D.F. Pray’s KORE team (Keep Our Reputation Excellent), which is a body within the company that meets weekly to discuss corporate issues as well as extensive written reviews of every project. With an average of 24 years of history with the company, the KORE team affords Scott the opportunity to focus on client relationships and fiscal policy. Scott has spent numerous years researching and implementing innovative project delivery systems, particularly in value engineering and project coordination, successfully drawing upon the experience of D.F. Pray’s cadre of project managers, superintendents and field personnel to handle the diverse needs of an ever-changing construction industry. Under Scott’s leadership the company utilizes state of the art accounting, estimating and project management systems on all projects. He also introduced the company-wide Pray School of Continuing Education striving for excellence in all employees. This school reviews and instructs employees on the written Policy’s or Rubrics that serve as an official book of standards and procedures. Topics include: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Contracts, Purchase Orders, Employee Benefits Program, and almost all things. D.F. Pray. |
